Giving Things a Chance

I asked my mommy to sign me up for gymnastics because I thought it would be really fun. But then I discovered that some moves hurt me and I didn't like class. One day I came and I started to cry. I wanted to go home. A nice assistant named Alex helped me out, and then I noticed something new. Class could be really fun if I just give it a chance!

I started kindergarten a couple of weeks ago and I hated it. And then I gave it a chance. And I realized that I liked kindergarten and now I am really having fun!

Did you ever not like something and then give it a chance and notice that you liked it?

  1. I do that a lot with food. Sometimes, things sound like they would taste gross, but when I try them, I find that I really like them.

  2. I'm so proud of you, Sweetie! I didn't like daddy the first time I met him but then I gave him a chance! Ha! I'm only kidding.

I used to hate going to the gym to work out, but now I like it.

  3. I'm really glad you like gymnastics now! I was scared the first time I had to learn how to play basketball, but then after I gave it a chance, I LOVED it.

    Have a good Thanksgiving!!

  4. I'm a friend of your moms. Hi! Giving things a chance is a really great thing to do! Sometimes you won't know right away how completely fabulous something is, and you would miss out on it if you gave it up right away, before giving it a chance! Which is exactly what you said in your post...so in short- I agree with you!!

  5. I thought I wouldn't like hot chilly peppers, but i gave them a chance. Guess what? Wow, was I sorry. I danced around the room with my mouth smoking, my lips burning, my tongue crying. I drank four glasses of water and still my head was on fire ... however, I do make it a practice to try new things - sometimes things that I don't think I'll like -- and I find I grow to like most everything. But, not chilly peppers.

that's a very smart post you wrote.

    Love,

  7. believe it or not, i didn't like the way pizza looked the first time i saw it! i went to a birthday party in a restaurant and everybody got pizza
but i got spaghetti. i remember thinking how silly i must be, because
EVERYBODY ELSE looked like they were having such a good time.

so the next chance i got, i tried it. and i love it! now i have it almost
    every day for lunch ;-]

  8. I am a really picky eater and also very stubborn. So when I was younger I only ate pizza and chicken. I refused to even try anything else. But then one day I decided to "give things a chance." And it worked. I like so many different kinds of food now.

Some of the foods I tried I still do not like, but what counts is that I tried it and gave it a chance. I am so proud of you that you gave gymnastics a chance and I hope you continue to love it for a very very long time.

O by the way, I still don't like seafood. Ewwwwwwwwwww.....
